Golf Thresholds

I have a friend that I meet at the Winstar Casino and Golf Resort every September for 4 days of non-stop golf. It is on the Oklahoma Texas border so it is usually very warm in September. Which is good because my thresholds for playing golf are 65 degrees and sun. Waiting a year for the trip always sucks so now that his kids are older we decided to go twice a year so we went in April. The forecast was looking good until about a week out. As I was driving down from Kansas it was 50 degrees with some light rain. As I passed through Oklahoma City I drove through snow flurries. Are you kidding me!! By the time I reached Winstar it was 40 degrees and mist. Not meeting my thresholds!! However, we were in it to win it at this point. I knew there was a chance that it would be cold so I bought a cover for the golf cart and I had a propane heater made for golf carts. So as long as we were in the golf cart we were good. First time I golfed in a heated vest and a stocking cap. The next morning when we teed off it was a balmy 35 degrees. It was a short trip and we only stayed 2 days. The day we left….it was 80 and sunny. I swear we live in the Matrix sometimes and someone is just messing with us. Next year we may wait until May…just in case.
